Enhanced Transition Programme 2018

In April 2018, 21 pupils took part in a 4 day Enhanced Transition Programme at Whitburn Academy in order to make them feel more confident about making the transition in August.

1+2 Languages Transition Day

On Friday 27th April 2018, all of Whitburn Academy's cluster primary schools attended and participated in a 1+2 Languages Transition Day at the Academy.

Medics Against Violence

During week beginning 9th and 16th April, representatives from Medics Against Violence visited Whitburn Academy to talk to our S2 and S3 pupils.

Musical Success

Well done to Scott (S5) who has recently passed his ABRSM piano exam grade 6 and ABRSM euphonium exam.

Sleep Scotland Sleep Support

Sleep Scotland have launched an advice line for parents or carers of a child or young person who has sleep problems.

Netball Champions!

Congratulations to our S1-S3 Netball team, who became the West Lothian School Sports League Champions on 20th April!

'The Smashed Project' visit

On 16th April, 'The Smashed Project' visited the Academy to put on a short play and run a workshop with our S2 pupils.

Polkemmet Transition Week

During week beginning 9th April, Primary 7 pupils from Polkemmet Primary School visited the Academy for their transition week.

Cheque Handover

On 11th April, the N5 Retail class, which is run by the Inclusion and Wellbeing Service at West Lothian College, handed over a cheque for £186 to MacMillan Cancer Support.

Safe use of online apps

There are billions of different apps that can be found online and a large number of these are used by teenagers throughout the world.
