P7 Open Evening

Our Primary 7 Information Evening takes place on Thursday 26th October 2023 from 6-8pm and will give the opportunity for you to experience our exciting learning opportunities through

  • A tour of the school
  • Classroom visits
  • Meeting staff and students
  • Seeing demonstrations of lessons in various departments
  • Learning about our curriculum

Upcoming events

P7 Information evening

Wednesday 5th June 2024- 6pm until 7pm.

  • P7 students, parents and carers are invited to come to the school to hear about the transition days and the activities planned for our P7 students the following week.
  • This will be an opportunity for Senior school staff to give an overview of the school.

P7 Transition days 2024: Tuesday 11th June- Friday 14th June

Tuesday 11th - Thursday 13th June, 8.30am- 3.25pm.

  • All pupils will follow their S1 timetable
  • On arrival on pupils will report to the assembly hall each morning and be escorted to their classes.
  • Pupils arriving for the transition should arrive to school in their primary school uniform.
  • If possible students should bring a snack for break and preferably a packed lunch.
  • Hot and cold food will be available from the school canteen at break and lunch
  • It is preferred that students using the canteen, use the ipay option to preload their cashless catering account, but there will be availability for students to load cash via the school based machines.
  • Pupils entitled to a free school will have their daily allocation preloaded onto their cashless catering card (parents do not need to do anything)

Friday 14th June-8.30am-12.15pm

Festival Information

  • On arrival at Whitburn Academy pupils will make their way to the hall.
  • Pupils should arrive wearing their clothing suitable for activities.
  • If the weather is to be warm/hot please ensure your pupils have plenty of water as there are no facilities for filling up water bottles. Also, please ensure pupils come protected with sun cream as there is no shaded areas outside
  • If the weather is to be wet or colder, please ensure pupils are wearing suitable clothing for outdoor sport (waterproof jacket, change of footwear etc) as some activities will be outside
  • We will have an indoor contingency plan if the weather is to be bad so the event will go ahead regardless of weather.
  • Each group will have 4 activity rotations and may be involved in football, athletics, gymnastics, cycling, team building, rounders


  • Please arrive by 8.30am, so we can aim to start session 1 as close to 8.45am as possible. We will finish by 12.15pm in line with the school day.

Cloakroom Facilities

  • Please make sure your children arrive ready to start activities e.g. only need to take off jackets- there will be no changing facilities available at Whitburn Academy to change. Toilets are located throughout the school near facilities
