MVP Mentors
MVP is a program which aims to support young people to positively influence the attitudes and behaviour of their peers.
We have a number of staff with in the school who are able to train mentors in our school. This means we are able to upskill a number of our senior students to deliver meaningful lessons to our S1 and S2 students.
Mentor training took place soon after the return from Summer. The S5 and 6 students that took part enjoyed this experience and the training delivered by Mr Steven and Mrs Fowler-Crooks.
The students gained an understanding of the purpose of the MVP program and had an opportunity to practice delivering a session to a group.
Our mentors then worked with staff to prepare 4 sessions that could be delivered to an S1 or 2 class. This was something the students had to do outside of class time showing a massive commitment from our MVP mentors.
Feedback collected from pupils, S5 & 6 mentors and staff shows this was a great success.

Our MVP program will now look to introduce a presence around the school to give our pupils a number of responsible students they can approach for advice.
