Junior Awards Ceremony
On Wednesday 15th June, the Academy held its Junior Awards Ceremony to celebrate and reward the many academic successes of our S1 - S3 pupils.
Following a brief welcome and Headteacher's address from Ms Loudon, the audience were treated to the BGE Rock and Pop group performing 'One Thing' by One Direction. Our guest speaker, former pupil and current Pupil Support Worker, Helen Cochrane, then gave an inspiring talk to the pupils.
The S1 awards were then presented for Outstanding Effort and Academic Excellence and this was followed by one of our S3 pupils reading out their own creative writing piece, 'Constituto'.
The S2 Outstanding Effort and Academic Excellence awards were then presented and this was followed by the winning group from the Youth Philanthropy Initiative final, sharing their winning presentation.
The S3 Outstanding Effort and Academic Excellence awards were then presented and this was followed by some of our S1 Drama pupils presenting their mime called 'Wild West'
The final set of awards were the Special Awards, these were the Youth Philanthropy Initiative Award, Junior Physical Education Award, Junior Music Award, Junior Creative Writing Award, Award for Best Academic Performance in S1, Award for Best Academic Performance in S2 and the Junior Dux Award.
The evening ended with a Vote of Thanks to everyone who was involved in the Awards Ceremony.
Congratulations to all our Prize Winners! Your awards were all thoroughly deserved.
