Community Choices

There is currently a Community Choices process which gives local people the chance to influence how money can be spent on environmental improvements across a number of locations in West Lothian.

25 August

This will allow communities to put forward project ideas for areas of housing land, for example ideas could range from community gardens and grow your own spaces to improving hedging and open spaces. Initially the focus will be on areas of land around council owned housing areas in Blackburn, Whitburn & Bathgate. The first stage of the process runs from 2 August until 4 October when members of the public will be asked to submit their ideas which can then be considered for allocation of funds from the tenant's environmental improvement budget.

Information on the process can be found at: https://www.westlothian.gov.uk/article/68796/HRA-Tenants-Environmental-Project (opens new window)

For communities to participate they can login to https://westlothiancouncil.communitychoices.scot/budgets (opens new window) using a MyAccount (MyWestLothian - the same login for parents portal etc) login and can add project proposals and/or comment, the same as social media (including thumbs up if agree etc), on any proposals that are added to the site.

Details of the Housing Tenant's Environmental Project can be found in the following flyer: Housing Tenant's Environmental Project (PDF, 272 KB)(opens new window)
