The Reading Game
Miss Reid's S2 English class really enjoyed their lesson in the library this week by taking part in the Reading Game, which encourages pupils to read by introducing books from different genre in a fun and imaginative way.

Each book is discussed by a group of pupils who are tasked with making decisions about which book has the best cover, blurb and opening sentence. It's very interactive and really gets the pupils talking about books. At the end of the lesson there were several pupils queuing up to borrow books they would never have dreamt of reading! It's a great way to build a reading culture here at Whitburn Academy.
