Whitburn Traders, a local community group, are working to improve Whitburn and the surrounding area.

Eco Committee at Harrison Hut 2017

They were given permission by West Lothian Council to upgrade the Harrison Hut, located behind the library, for community use, this included the fitting of new windows, doors and flooring as well as a repaint.

Whitburn Academy are working closely with the group on a range of projects, the first of these being to help with planting some winter plants and shrubs in the gardens surrounding the hut.  On Wednesday 15th November, members of the Eco committee armed with pitch forks and trowels, headed up to the Harrison Hut and spent the morning transforming the garden.

The transformed Harrison Hut was unveiled to the public on Saturday 18th November, with a Farmer's Market being held.  Our Vine Trust pupils had their own stall at the event selling a number of home made items including Tablet and Shortbread.

Our collection of photographs show the pupils hard at work in the Harrison Hut Garden.
