Active Girls Day
On Friday 6th October, the PE department hosted its first ever 'Active Girls Day'.

Whitburn Academy was one of many schools across the country who celebrated Active Girls Day - an initiative advocated by Sport Scotland - which aims to promote and celebrate sport and physical activity for girls. The PE department and Sports Ambassadors delivered a variety of fun sporting activities, such as dance, rugby and swimming, as part of an S1 girls inter-house sporting event. The day concluded with an inter-house dance off in which Wallace came out on top, as they showed the most energy and enthusiasm in their final performance. Thank you to Shannon from SMK Dance Works for visiting and teaching the girls the fun dance routine, and a big thank you to our Sports Ambassadors Chloe and Mya who also delivered fun sessions to the groups. There is lots of coverage from the day on our Twitter account - @WAC_PE and #ActiveGirls.
