Higher Biology Trip
Higher Biology students and Mr Campbell attended a trip to the University of Strathclyde's Biomedical Institute in late August.

The trip allowed students to get hands-on experience of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), restriction enzyme digestion and gel electrophoresis. This reaction allows minute DNA samples to be manipulated and amplified and has many uses, including crime scene analysis. The trip also provided an opportunity to experience a working university laboratory.
