Pupil Council Elections

On 14th September, Whitburn Academy held it's Pupil Council elections.

Voting was held in the Assembly Hall before school,during break time, during lunchtime and after school. Pupils were given voting cards, which were used to check that they were able to vote, then they then filled in their ballot papers in real voting booths and posted their votes in real ballot boxes.   The voting booths and ballot boxes are the same ones used in the General and Scottish Parliament elections.  

Turnout for the election was 35 % and per year group was as follows:

  • S1: 33%
  • S2: 42%
  • S3: 25%
  • S6: 48%

The results will be announced after the September break.
