S1/S2 Rugby Competition
On 23rd September, our S1/2 boys rugby squad attended their first SRU Tier 4 competition against a variety of opposition in Edinburgh.
Teams in attendance were Craigmount / Forrester High Schools combined, Newbattle High School and Dalkeith High School. This was a big test for our boys against different teams that they hadn't played before and in a completely new environment. Whitburn started off slowly with a large defeat to Dalkeith due to numerous missed tackles and a slight apprehensiveness to go forward. In the 2nd game against Newbattle it was much closer and they were only narrowly defeated but the performance was much better and the support and running angles had dramatically improved. In the 3rd game we played the way we had finished off last season with some strong running and solid tackling, eventually winning 5 tries to 3.
A very good first outing in the Tier 4 competitions.
The S1 players player was Lachlan and the S2's was Josh, well played.
