Pupil Council Elections

The Pupil council is split into 2 groups, the Junior Council for pupils in S1-S3 and the Senior Council for pupils in S4-S6.   Both Councils meet on a regular basis to discuss any issues raised by their peers and to get feedback on comments raised at previous meetings.

Voting was held in the Assembly Hall before school, during break time, during lunchtime and after school. Pupils were given voting cards, which were used to check that they were able to vote, then they then filled in their ballot papers in real voting booths and posted their votes in real ballot boxes.   The voting booths and ballot boxes are the same ones used in the General and Scottish Parliament elections.

Turnout for the election was 48 % and per year group was as follows:

  • S1: 60%
  • S2: 34%
  • S5: 48%
  • S6: 52%
