Music

The school offers the following SQA levels in Music.

S1-S2 Music

Pupils will cover three areas throughout S1-2 Music: practical, listening and composing. Practical consists of learning to play classroom instruments such as the keyboard, glockenspiel, ukulele, guitar, bass guitar and drum kit. Pupils will focus on two solo instruments and they will also have the chance to play in a group.

The listening units teach pupils about musical concepts associated with specific topics. Our topics cover musical theatre, popular music, film music and Scottish music.

Pupils will learn basic music theory throughout S1-2 which will allow them to compose their own music. Pupils will also use music technology to create electronic music.
