S6 & Staff Burns Supper
On 26th January, Ms Loudon and the School Captains organised and hosted a Burns Supper for S6 pupils and staff!
The compère for the event was Miss MacKay, who opened the evening with a History of Burns, which was followed by the piping in of the haggis. Ms Forbes gave the address: 'To a Haggis', and this was followed by the Selkirk Grace.
The traditional Burns Supper was then served and consisted of a starter of Scotch Broth soup, main course of Haggis, Neeps & Tatties and a dessert of Cranachan.
Following the meal, the Immortal Memory was read by Mr Greenwood. Next up was the song 'A Red, Red Rose' by Miss Lafferty and one of the S6 pupils and the poem 'To a Mouse". The formal part of the night was concluded with the singing of 'Auld Lang Syne' and this was followed by a Ceilidh and a Vote of Thanks.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended or assisted in any way to make the evening such a success!
