Panto Success!
On Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th December our Drama Department put on their eagerly awaited Pantomime: Cinderella.
Cinderella was Whitburn Academy's first full length drama production in 15 years (the last one was Dirty Greasy High School Musical in 2008) and was enjoyed over three performances by over 400 audience members! The first performance was for the Primary 7 pupils from our local cluster schools, the second was for pupils who have gained Pupil of the Month awards since August and the third was for Parents / Carers and families.
Our cast, who were made up from pupils in various year groups were absolutely brilliant! They were serious, funny and confident - so confident they were even ad libbing! Our backstage crew of pupils were fantastic as well carrying out various tasks including set changes and prompting.
A huge thank you to Mr Greenwood who wrote the script and directed the show!
Also a huge thank you to the many pupils and staff who built the sets, painted the sets, provided music for the show, operated the lighting and sound desks, helped out back stage, produced posters and marketing, prepared tickets, worked behind the scenes, sorted out hair and make up or provided assistance in any other way!
