First Minister's Reading Challenge 2019

The First Minister's Reading Challenge aims to help children and young people between the ages of 5 and 18 develop a love of reading.

This Challenge celebrates the progress schools make in building a reading culture. 

Please find below our entries to the First Minister's Reading Challenge, 2019. We have created 2 videos:

• Video 1 (opens new window) is from the International Literacy Day event that we held in September
• Video 2 (opens new window) has some pupils speaking about their experiences and how their confidence in reading has improved over the year.

The pupils have done a brilliant job of representing Whitburn Academy. The final is on June 10th; fingers crossed!
