RUTS
RUTS was established in 1981, by a group of enthusiastic motorcycling youth workers to provide activity-based groupwork projects for young people.
These projects used off-road motorcycling as an activity which took the interest of the young people involved and encouraged involvement, but at the same time provided opportunities for useful growth experiences, such as teamwork and taking instruction.
What is RUTS?
RUTS provides education to young people through a practical programme of activities using motorcycles as a focus.
Aims
- RUTS aims to equip young people with the confidence and skills required to achieve their highest potential and raise their aspirations.
- RUTS aims to make a positive difference to young peoples lives and the communities they live in.
- RUTS run learning programmes of motorcycle related activities for young people. These can be tailored to the needs of the client or agency.
Mobile Units
The mobile unit programmes covers subjects such as Health & Safety, motorcycle mechanics, first aid, road safety, motorcycles and society as well as such issues as employability and progression routes to further learning. Trials riding is also part of the programme and RUTS has their own dedicated trials site
