Vine Trust Update

Santa runs, cake sales, raffles, Community service, cakes sales, Whitburn Christmas Fayre, school tuck-shop, car boot sale*, and did I mention cake sales already?

06 March
Vine Trust Group

All of these and more have been used by our S4 to S6 pupils to raise money to take 20 pupils and two staff to Peru in the summer holidays of 2018. These pupils also are committed to raising their own fund raising activities through personal sponsorships.

The staff who are involved have been extremely impressed with the imagination and drive of all our pupils in personal and general fundraising activities and hopefully with this level of commitment we should be able to raise the £2000 required for each person.  We are not sure if it will be Arequipa or Lima in Peru, but we do know it will involve assisting in hands-on community projects and at children's homes.

The Vine Trust who run this school expedition (opens new window) mention that they support pupils to "become active global citizens by enabling them to enact and empower significant change in vulnerable communities" . Judging by the qualities of our present expedition pupils, we can expect that they will make a significant change whatever part of Peru they go to in over a year's time!

In the meantime if you know of a pupil who is seeking sponsors to raise money, or even if you are passing a cake-stall to raise general funds - please do consider to support our pupils in this once-in-a-lifetime community adventure.

*We have a car-boot sale, Saturday (am) 6th May at the School car-park (more details to follow).
