Construction Challenge

gaining lots of valuable life skills as well as building on their team building, communication strategies, problem solving and time management skills in the annual Construction and Built Environment Challenge. Unfortunately we did not win this year and we were just beat to the post by another school but all pupils involved proudly held their heads high and did their very best.

The pupils took part in 3 main challenges which were:

1. To construct and accurately create 2 garden trellis
2. To construct floor joists and support brackets following set working drawings and instructions
3. Learn about heat and light for sustainability using correct lux readers and infrared camera systems.

Each task used new tools, equipment and skills which have enhanced and built upon current school level learning.
