The parent council is a group of parents from Whitburn Academy that represent parent views and work in partnership with pupils, the head teacher and the local authority to achieve the best for their child's school.

Whitburn Academy works closely with the local community with a range of events and initiatives.

The charities committee was initially set up in 2014 as a voluntary group for pupils and staff to help raise awareness and funds for a variety of charities. The committee organises a range of events that are held annually across the school and have made a significant amount of money for a variety of worthwhile causes since the group began.
